I pickup lunch here 2-3 times a week for myself and coworkers. I phone in our orders and they are always ready when I get there. The staff is always friendly. I'm pretty much a salad person when it comes to lunch at work and their chicken Caesar salad is always fresh and tasty with great chicken and croutons. However, today I ordered the Thursday Special -- an Italian Meatball Sandwich, which I ordered with Provolone cheese and a little lettuce on a whole wheat roll. IT WAS DELICIOUS!!! I will definitely be ordering that one again!!! I know everyone in the office here is happy with their orders as well as there are weekly repeats of some of the other specials, like the Monterey Chicken Sandwich, my boss' personal favorite.

The only negative thing I would say is that they are out of stuff often -- like chicken, tuna and/or egg salad, etc., which means I have to go back and retake orders, which is not only inconvenient, but disappointing when you're in the mood for something in particular. However, that may be seen as a positive as it relates to the volume of their sales.

The super sandwich is HUGE. Best to split it with someone. They have what seems to be the usual fixin's for sandwiches around South San Francisco, like big rolls, jalapeno spread, garlic sauce - why are these factors so popular in SSF?? Anyways it's a decent sandwich, but on a whole, not as good as Little Lucca's or Darby Dan's. Maybe it's the bread, or the ratio of meat/wet/dry that doesn't hit the home run. However, there are two things that make this place cool.

1) Convenience - It's not hard to get to, nor is it jam packed with hungry people in line in front of you.
2) Price - I paid $6.95 for a super ham and swiss, with a can of coke, bag of chips, and an apple. That's the special. Pretty good deal.

Oh and it's a little grocery store too, so even though you can't eat your bigger-than-forearm sandwich there, you can at least pick up that 40 of King Cobra to wash it down with back at work.

It's not about the sammiches folks, it's about the SERVICE! Working for a company nearby, I can personally attest to the fabulosity that is Gus and his team. Advance notice, last minute, whatever - he'll bring me huge deli platters for sammich making, far too much beer, wine, soda & water, plus ice, cups and big red buckets for said ice, beer, wine, soda & water.
They're my go to for beverage catering needs, and will do for food in a pinch. Friendly and reliable, I've converted a good chunk of my coworkers over for their adult beverage needs as well.

Working in SSF i always like to find the best places for certain cravings i'm in the mood for. One day i was in the mood for a deli sandwich. Now i reviewed a deli before on yelp and that place was so shat so i was discouraged to try any other deli in south city BUT i found school house deli and i swear i'm hooked!

I'm there atleast twice a week the gals that work there are hella cool customer service is great! classic south city feel. The sandwiches wow! fresh bread, they have this garlic spread there that i think they put crack in it because i feen for that sauce every week yum! the roast beef and cheddar on dutch crunch extra garlic spread my favorite i recommend it. They also have this tune melt there uhhh weeeee hella good. 6 bucks for a combo with chips and a drink u cant be that. ask about the sandwich card TRUST ME YOU WILL COME BACK! i hate letting people know becuz i dont want it to get crowded but this little hidden gem is just too good to keep for myself.
